Montessori Education
A Montessori education is founded on a deep respect for the child as a unique
individual. It consciously teaches children to be kind and peaceful,
while students also learn to collaborate and work together. The method
is designed to recognize and address different learning styles. Plus,
Montessori students develop leadership skills and independence by
helping to create and manage their own community.
Montessori Class Environments
Montessori class environments are multi – aged. The Primary class environment nurtures the emotional,educational and physical needs of children 3-6 years of age.
The Montessori Environment Fosters:
Independence
Nurtures the development of Self-discipline. The child becomes aware of themselves as a member of a class community, and that their actions make a difference.
Development of long periods of concentration
Firm understanding of abstract concepts
Development of peace resolution skills to work out issues with their friends
Montessori Curriculum
The Montessori curriculum is a 3 year curriculum. Each child works
through the curriculum at their own pace until concepts are mastered.

Through the manipulation of concrete math and language materials the child develops a firm knowledge of concepts.
